Bracknell

John Nike Leisuresport, Bracknell, will be holding more of the very successful week-long activity camps over the school holidays where children can try various sports, such as ice skating, broomball and skiing, as well as other fun activities and games. Children, aged between 8 and 12, can attend for the whole five days (£90) or as many days as they choose (£20 per day).
Or, for a more focused experience, try a summer ski and snowboard camp – an ideal time for children to learn ready for the winter. On the ice rink, there will be extra disco sessions held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons – in addition to the usual evening sessions.
There are also several sizzling summer offers to be found around the complex at Bracknell. While your children are busy on the slope or the ice, pop into the gym to find out about membership and get your body ready for the beach. Or, if you are embarrassed of your pale skin, make sure you claim a free session on the sunbed when you book five.
It’s not just those on vacation who can benefit from John Nike Leisuresport, Bracknell, this summer – businesses are offered discounted room hire, to accommodate up to 100 people, if they bookfood and drink or use of the sporting facilities for their conference.

Chatham

Youngsters aged 10 to 16 can spend time skiing and snowboarding at John Nike Leisuresport, Chatham, where ‘Radical Kids’ activity camps keep your children busy all day long.
For more experienced boarders, the High and Dry snowboard competition is a high profile, sponsored freestyle event for up to 70 entrants which will take place on 10 August. Places are limited and booking beforehand is essential so call Alex Spence on 01634 827979 to reserve your place on one of the biggest dry slope events in the country.

Llandudno

Why limit your winter sports to the daylight hours? At John Nike Leisuresport, Llandudno, the fun never ends – the slopes are floodlit, so you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding after you have finished work. The Alpine bar and restaurant are also open late so you can indulge in some après-ski after a tiring day enjoying the sights and sounds of the North Wales town or speeding down the centre’s 750m cresta run.

Bristol

And, for those living in the Bristol area, the ice rink will be offering its usual wonderful array of activities this summer – call 0117 929 2148.

Wrexham jumps ahead

Plans to build a new John Nike Leisuresport centre – including the UK’s first ever artificial ski jumping hills – are progressing.
The project that is planned for Gresford, Wrexham, is being managed by Nike Design Limited. The consultancy is working with the Welsh Tourist Board and Wrexham Borough Council to commission a study of the economic impact of the proposed development.
The proposal will make Wrexham the centre for international ski jumping as well as providing a tourist attraction where visitors will be able to ascend to the top of the tallest ski jump tower to view the panorama. Watch this space for more details…
